Home Depot Builds Decks ?????
No, not really. Home Depot hires subs to build your deck or fence, they take a commission and hire the sub—that’s it. Home Depot pays the sub, and technically the sub has to do any warranty work or they don’t get any more work from Home Depot.
The trouble is that you have to have competitive prices, which means many of the contractors are working for less than they are used to. The sub actually doubles as salesman for Home Depot—Home Depot shirts and everything.
That’s why we get situations like this when one of our guys is owed by a sub that does work for Home Depot. He’s a landscaper, and now the franchise, after giving a 8% cut to his franchiser, and a 10% cut to Home Depot, has nothing left to pay the guys that actually did the toil.
Home Depot likely doesn’t even know about this—so it’s not technically their fault. It’s just one of Home Depot’s regular contractors - actually they have a deal to offer landscaping services with this company across Canada.
