Honorability - Crediting Designers and Builders

Designers, Builders, Contractors and photographers all have a stake in and claim credit to their work. At times--the lines of protocol are a little fuzzy.

It goes something like this normally.

If you designed it or contracted the design and your crews installed it you can claim it as your own work. If you designed it... claim the design-- If you built it... Claim the installation--if you contracted it... Claim the contract.

But not...

If you were the landscape contractor--you can claim the entire job as your own--even if you didn't contract, design or pay for the design of the project or even install all the elements.

Now, I want to get this right. For example The Stone Mountain fence and deck centre is selling and designing shop. We were best installation crew for them (before website was developed).

I can tell you that this company featured our work on the cover of their brochures for a few years--without credit.

We chatted about numerous jobs over couple of years--however the owner always wanted credit--as he assumed it on this job, which simply wasn't right. Since I knew he wasn't giving us credit for the work we did, we simply refused to do any more work for him. Lets check their credibility now please click here

After you carefoully read their customer credibility you must consider they cannot stay in business because they simply doing bad name for this Fence and Deck Contractors, Builders and Landscape Companies in Toronto area.

Questions ?????

1 . How they can run business if they are not paying their contractors and builders ?????

2 . How they can lie to their customers ?????

Answers !!!!!

1 . Simple as that they are charging customers high deposits and than progress payments and work not even start !!!!! Ofcourse they have plenty of excuses and at very end job is never done and customers will never again see their money !!!!! Or in better way the job is done late after couple monhts of excuses and ofcourse contract price changing.

Few steps how to predict this situations in the future :

1. Read carefully contracts
2. Check company work
3. If is job under-priced ask contractor why(not always this is scam sign!!!!!) maybe just big competition or regional economic situation cost lower price
4. If is deposit too high ask contractor why(usually this is sign of scam!!!!!)
5. Ask for work time frame
6. Ask for warranty
7. Compare more offers from different contractors
8. Ask contractors everything you consider is important for you
9. If you don't like some construction steps let contractor explaining to you why ..... this is reason
why you hired professional contractor
10. Don't push price of work down because contractors know their prices very well ..... if they see
that you are looking for cheaper price than (good contractor will offer you some small extra
upgrades for free) or (bad contractor will take your offer and job will not be done properly)
11. Enjoy your new fence, deck or landscape job ........ :)
